Certified Substance Abuse Counselor
Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin
Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC)
The Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of addiction medicine physicians and advanced practice providers, registered nurses and other staff to coordinate, support and deliver evidence-based, high-quality substance use disorder treatment. The CSAC is responsible for delivery of evidence-based diagnostic assessment and treatment to adults with substance use disorders. The incumbent will receive day to day guidance, administrative supervision, and clinical consultation from the Associate Medical Director-Substance Use Disorder, with additional accountability to the Behavioral Health Services Manager.

The CSAC will complete documentation in the electronic medical record in a timely manner per department and organization protocols, and chart in a manner that is patient-oriented and professional. The CSAC will work collaboratively with addiction medicine physicians and advanced practice providers and be an active participant in substance use disorder department meetings.
