Senior Process Technician

Weatherford, Texas • Full-Time • Hourly Non-Exempt

The Senior Process Technician assists the department supervisor in supporting ERP production personnel, including extrusion, bonding, and packaging, and the department in continuous improvement efforts. The Technician must keep continuous improvement in mind in all aspects of the production environment. This includes process improvement, line setup and cure control, safety, housekeeping, department organization, and adherence to procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

▪ All the job responsibilities of an Extrusion Process Technician

▪ Provide support to the Extrusion Process Technicians

▪ Review previous shift activity with Technicians including summary review

▪ Review priority sheet and available operators to ensure extrusion lines are covered in order of priority with line assignment

▪ Ensure smooth transition from shift to shift to eliminate downtime

▪ Monitor operators for standard work and consistency

▪ Monitor scrap totals to ensure operators are asking for assistance when needed

▪ Monitor line speeds and hourly footage to ensure productivity and efficiency

▪ Set up extrusion lines, including dies, extruder settings, and cure line parameters (LCM bath and HAV oven temperatures, line speed)

▪ Verify profile dimensions at startup and throughout the run; adjust the process to hold print tolerances

▪ Provide technician support to bonding and packaging operations

▪ Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain the heat-controlled bonding fixtures used to bond 4-way gaskets

▪ Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain the 4-way spooler used by packagers to spool parts to specified lengths

▪ Provide proper paperwork and review/correct any reporting issue for shift

▪ Ensure training paperwork is completed and turned in to supervisor

▪ Inventory counting for WIP, finished product and components

▪ Set up and run PERs and First Run parts; manage new programs

▪ Review work instructions and submit PCNs as needed

▪ Assist in new product development

▪ Develop Tech as a backup when out

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

▪ Minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on extrusion experience

▪ Must pass departmental proficiency test with minimum score of 95%

▪ Must maintain above 90% efficiency & below average scrap once in position

▪ Working knowledge of extrusion equipment, including die setup and line startup, is required

▪ Must be able to train new operators on proper extrusion techniques

▪ Must be able to work in a team environment & have good personal interaction skills

▪ Must have good organizational skills

▪ Must be articulate and display a professional appearance

▪ Good communication skills and the ability to express ideas and concepts with confidence both verbally and in writing

▪ Forklift certified

▪ Must be able to set up all extrusion equipment and auxiliary equipment, including bonding fixtures and the 4-way spooler

▪ Must display a willingness to help your teammates

▪ Must have the ability to recognize unsafe conditions and assist in correcting these conditions to prevent injuries to self and others

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

▪ Experience with HCR (High Consistency Rubber) silicone extrusion

▪ Experience running LCM (Liquid Curing Media) and/or HAV (Hot Air Vulcanization) curing lines
