These candidates must have machine repair experience.Safety Sensitive: YesExpectations of the position: As a Heavy Diesel Equipment Mechanic, you will ensure the reliability and functionality of industrial machinery, engines, and mechanical systems. This role includes performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and diagnosing faults using computerized diagnostic tools.Core ResponsibilitiesPerform major and minor repairs on heavy diesel equipment and trucksOverhaul and rebuild engines and transmissionsConduct preventive maintenance, including inspections, tire rotations, and oil changesUse diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine necessary repairsCollaborate with operators to understand machinery issuesUse hydraulic jacks or hoists as needed for repairsMaintain accurate work logs and report issuesKeep tools and equipment in proper conditionEnsure compliance with safety procedures and maintain a clean workspaceQualifications and SkillsProven experience as a Heavy Equipment MechanicKnowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components of heavy equipmentAbility to follow all safety precautions for protection against accidents and hazardous materialsPhysical stamina and flexibility for long shifts, including overnight workDiploma from a Trade School or relevant certificationExperience performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairsCommitment to ensuring equipment meets safety and environmental standardsAbility to provide guidance to equipment operators on proper use and preventive maintenanceWorking ConditionsFull-time, hourly position.Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production, and non-production areas.This position may require working beyond regular hours, including weekends and holidays.
