Your impact The TDIP Construction Manager is responsible for managing the scope, cost, schedule and operational interfaces of all design and construction related activities for the program. Focus on schedule certainty, budget delivery, and ensuring construction work meets required quality standards while enforcing a strong health, safety and environmental culture. Support the development and implementation of design, construction, testing, commissioning, turnover plans, impacts to operations and risk mitigation for construction activities, working with stakeholders and ensuring LAWA standards are adhered to. Monitor all on-site field construction activities and associated project milestones. Apply comprehensive knowledge of various disciplines and methods for construction installation. Ensure construction operations follow approved work plans and Area Shutdown Requests (ASR’s) with proper notifications. Familiarize thoroughly with contractual obligations and technical aspects of all facilities to be erected. Ensure all work is performed and inspected to the latest versions of plans and specifications, including approved changes, submittals and RFIs. Work with Construction Contractor and stakeholders to develop planning, identify critical milestones and priorities. Monitor budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. Assign manpower, materials and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintain schedules and meet budget goals. Identify potential problem areas and take preventative action to ensure each phase meets critical milestones. Use sound and safe construction practices to achieve required quality control at maximum efficiency and minimum cost. Prepare periodic reports summarizing construction progress for higher‑level management and clients. Ensure effective implementation of all policies and procedures, including project labor agreement policies. Contribute to the advancement of TDG’s goals through collaboration with stakeholders. Perform other responsibilities as required or appropriate. Participate in coordination meetings with Construction Contractor, trade partners, stakeholders, LAWA Operations, etc. Review Contractor Potential Change Order Claims for merit and negotiate final resolution. Assume other duties as required or needed. Be available for overtime, after‑hours and weekend work as part of the salary. Provide a company‑provided laptop for VPN access into LAWA system; cell phone is provided by consultant. Position is not work‑from‑home and is salaried at 40 hours per week. Location: LAX office or project site; transportation to/from LAX is consultant’s responsibility. Position is a Monday‑Friday full‑time role; may require flexible shifts and overtime. Here’s what you’ll need Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field. At least 10 years of experience, preferably on airport projects. Experience with projects over $100 million in value. Experience with delivery methods: Design‑Bid‑Build, Design+CMAR and Design/Build. Proven management ability. Excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations. Experience in airport concourse scope, headhouse scope or site/civil scope (preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam. Familiarity with Project Management Information Systems (PM Web). Ideally you’ll also have Master’s degree (preferred). Optional certifications such as AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP or other relevant professional licensure. Pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
