Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive maternal and neonatal care in a magnet, teaching, Level II Trauma Center, specializing in labor and delivery. Ensure patient safety and comfort through skilled nursing practices during childbirth and postpartum care.

Responsibilities:

• Perform vaginal exams and assess fetal and maternal well-being during labor.
• Monitor and care for newborns and mothers, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols.
• Administer medications and interventions following approved guidelines, including advanced fetal monitoring.
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner charting system.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on childbirth processes and postpartum care.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid state nursing license and required certifications: BLS, AWHONN Advanced, NRP Advanced, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM).
• Possess at least 1 year of labor and delivery experience; experienced with a broad volume of births (from fewer than 100 to over 300).
• Demonstrate proficiency in vaginal exams, baby care, and handling labor scenarios.
• Be able to work rotating weekends with available flexibility for holiday shifts.
• Maintain compliance with COVID vaccination requirements.
