Maintenance Area Manager

Position Overview As the overseer of maintenance and repair operations, you will lead a team of skilled mechanics, ensuring the seamless functionality of equipment vital to our distribution center. Your responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing equipment, establishing preventive maintenance programs, minimizing downtime, and maximizing safety. You will maintain facility cleanliness and compliance with waste disposal regulations, navigate motor controls, conveyors, and MHE repairs, and gather data to implement effective solutions. This dynamic role requires flexibility and problem‑solving skills. Shift: Tuesday‑Friday 4:00 pm – 2:00 am A Day In The Life Lead the mechanics team through daily tasks. Oversee equipment repair and maintenance, assigning work orders with safety and production priorities. Manage preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime. Develop efficient methods and procedures for departmental activities. Ensure cleanliness and functionality of the building, grounds, and equipment. Supervise the facility’s waste disposal program, ensuring regulatory compliance. Collaborate with district leaders and tour facilities regularly to meet maintenance needs. You’ll Come With High school diploma or equivalent; trade school completion preferred. 5+ years of maintenance and supervisory experience. Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and safety procedures. Experience with conveyors, motor controls, and MHE. Strong analytical skills for data gathering and solution development. Excellent management, leadership, communication, organizational, and administrative skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering‑related programs. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical ability to lift and move boxes weighing 40 lb. or more and to stand for extended periods.
