Job OpportunityShift: 7A - 7PLocation: Dallas, TXUnit Information:Number of Beds: 27Number of Staff: 90Staff Structure: Acuity adaptive modelICU and Step Down Patient Care TeamDay Shift: 2 Charge Nurses for each unit (ICU and step down), 1 Patient Care Technician (PCT), Registered Nurses based on census and acuity needsNight Shift: 2 Charge Nurses for each unit (ICU and step down), 1 PCT, Registered Nurses based on census and acuity needsPatient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, or occasionally 1:3Equipment Utilized:IV Pumps: Medfusion and BaxterBeds: HillromCribs: HARD cribs and cribettesRadiant Warmers: GENIRS Machines: SomaneticsVentilators: Servo UElectronic Medical Record System: MeditechQualifications:Required Skills:Minimum of 1 year of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurse3-4 contracts in a dedicated Pediatric CICUMinimum of 2 years of PICU experience as a staff nurseExperience managing patients with congenital heart disease and post-operative care for CHD patientsProficient in management of arterial lines, central lines, and transthoracic linesPreferred Qualifications:2 or more years of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurseAt least 1 year of experience in caring for neonatal cardiac patients (pre-op and post-op management)2 or more years of Pediatric cardiac experience in step down or cardiology floorTypical Procedures Performed:Central line and arterial line placementConscious sedationIntubation and extubationPost-operative recovery for general and cardiac proceduresSternal closuresCodes and ECMO cannulation/decannulationContinuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)Manual Peritoneal Dialysis (PD)Ideal Candidate Profile:Compassionate and empathetic in delivering careHardworking team playerDetail-oriented and meticulousAdaptable and flexible to changing environmentsRequired Certifications:Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)BLS: Basic Life SupportAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)Additional Information:Floating areas may include: PICU, NICU, pediatric med-surg, pediatric oncologyDress Code: Scrubs in royal blueSchedule: Rotating weekends (day shift Saturday and Sunday, night shift Friday and Saturday)No on-call requirementsNumber of Positions Available: 1
