This role is situated at our organization’s Behavioral Health Department within the Womack Army Medical Center, located at Fort Bragg, NC.

Womack, we are a fully accredited regional medical center with 110 beds, focusing on evidence-based practices and Graduate Medical Education (GME). We serve Fort Liberty, the largest U.S. Army installation globally and home to Airborne and Special Operations. Our organization manages several excellent Primary Care facilities in Fort Liberty, Fayetteville, Hope Mills, and Linden Oaks.

Located in Fayetteville, Fort Liberty is just two hours from the coast and five hours from the Appalachian Mountains, with convenient access to I-95 for travel north and south. As a Supervisory Physician in Psychiatry, your duties will include:

• Defining the overall scope of professional services and administrative policies while providing general medical, administrative, and professional guidance.
• Acting as a subject matter expert on Army and Military Treatment Facility (MTF) behavioral health policies and procedures to effectively meet functions, missions, and objectives.
• Offering consultation, advisory, and liaison services, with the ability to adapt to various population needs as necessary.
• Engaging in quality assurance and improvement initiatives, utilization reviews, risk management, and peer review processes.
• Performing first-level supervisory tasks, planning work for subordinates, setting and adjusting short-term priorities, and preparing work schedules.
• Overseeing all operations of the Behavioral Health clinic and services, ensuring patient-centered care and access to quality treatment.
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients, analyzing laboratory and clinical findings, prescribing suitable treatments, or referring patients to specialized clinics as needed.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Board Certified in Psychiatry.
• Medical malpractice liability insurance is not necessary for federal civilian healthcare providers, as they are protected under the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while performing their duties.
• Candidates must possess a permanent, full, and unrestricted medical license to practice in a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
