3D Animator

We have shipped titles across every major platform for clients, including Sony, Microsoft, and global AAA publishers. Description We are hiring a 3D Animator on a freelance/contract basis, where you will play a crucial role in bringing characters and environments to life. Collaborating closely with the Creative/Art Director and other team members, you will create high-quality animations that enhance gameplay and storytelling. Your responsibilities will include developing character movements, facial animations, and environmental effects, ensuring that all animations are fluid, dynamic, and stylistically consistent with the game’s visual style. You will also implement animations within the game engine, optimizing them for performance and ensuring they meet technical specifications. Regular communication with the development team is essential to align animations with game mechanics and narrative requirements, and staying current with industry trends and best practices in animation techniques is vital to the success of our projects. This is a fully remote, project-based engagement: scope, deliverables, timelines, and rates are defined per work order. It is not a full-time employment position. Job Skills 3D Animator will possess the following competencies: Maya/Blender Production-ready UE - Animation Blueprint Production-ready UE- Sequencer and Animation Graphs Production-ready UE- Retargeting and Optimization Production-ready UE- Triggered Events Production-ready UE- Integeration and Gameplay Production-ready Additional Skills Every 3D Animator must also demonstrateat least 2 additional competencies at production-ready proficiency: Knowledge of Game Animation vs Cinematics Knowledge of Motion Capture Understand Physics and Anatomy Basics of Tooling/Scripting Understand Production Pipeline Deliverables Expectations On-time delivery of project deliverables Outcomes delivered as per project specifications, consistently Time spent on an outcome is within project or budgeted mandays Streamline Values: Responsibility, accountability, discipline, teamwork, clear communication, continuous improvement, and learning.
