The Assistant Principal supports the Principal in the discharge of their duties at all times and acts in the capacity of the Principal during the Principal’s absence. The Assistant Principal is responsible for collaborating with the Principal and staff in fostering an inclusive culture that allows each member of our learning community to feel a sense of belonging that is grounded in social emotional safety, impactful relationships, and personalized growth. The Assistant Principal collaborates with and supports the Principal in working directly with students and staff to maximize their potential by serving as an instructional leader, supervising and evaluating staff, and providing oversight of daily operations of the school by employing effective and efficient student-centered practices. They implement policies and practices as developed and agreed upon by the School Committee and/or the District Leadership Team. The Assistant Principal provides leadership to the school community consistent with the District’s mission, vision, and core values. • Current Massachusetts DESE Educator License: Principal/Assistant Principal 5-12
• Master’s degree in education or related field
• A minimum of five years of experience in the field of education
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to positively lead and motivate staff and students

Work Year: The Assistant Principal will work a total of 206 days each fiscal year

• 183 school-year days (180 student days & 3 staff days)
• 23 additional work days (between last day of school year and first day of subsequent school year as determined collaboratively with the RMHS Principal)
