Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Transplant Financial Coordinator to join one of the nation's premier transplant programs. This role is responsible for coordinating insurance verification, securing authorizations, and ensuring financial clearance for transplant patients. Working closely with a multidisciplinary transplant team, you will play a critical role in helping patients navigate complex insurance and financial processes while supporting exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and transplant coverage.
• Obtain and manage prior authorizations for transplant-related services.
• Ensure timely financial clearance for transplant candidates.
• Counsel patients regarding insurance benefits, financial responsibilities, and available coverage options.
• Assist patients in resolving insurance coverage issues, including lapses or insufficient benefits.
• Review and analyze complex insurance policies and authorization requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians, transplant coordinators, case managers, and insurance providers to facilitate patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation within hospital systems and patient records.
• Identify and resolve insurance-related issues that may delay treatment.
• Support departmental process improvements and maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's Degree in a related field preferred.
• Associate's Degree may be substituted with two (2) years of financial experience, including at least one (1) year of transplant financial experience.
• Hospital or clinical healthcare experience required.
• Working knowledge of medical insurance verification and authorization processes.
• Strong computer, data entry, and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
• Ability to analyze complex insurance information and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Transplant financial experience required; Liver Transplant experience is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Experience in transplant finance and healthcare reimbursement.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
