Senior Lead, Engineering

This is a hybrid management position based in Dublin that will require recruiting for and developing engineers, leading a cross-functional team, as well as rolling up your sleeves and writing code. MongoDB Engineering Leads and Sr Leads are expected to be both people managers and active developers. We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Dublin for our hybrid working model. Role Responsibilities Have an opportunity to play a leading role in defining and contributing to how MongoDB leverages software and agentic AI technology to streamline and enhance internal business operations Lead cross-functional teams of engineering leads and individual contributors to deliver maximum value to the organization’s software solutions Support and develop team members’ career growth and professional development Collaborate with cross-functional partners to foster alignment and remove roadblocks for the team Work hand in hand with Product Development to continuously deliver value to internal customers Identify, design, implement, test, and support new features related to agentic and traditional software solutions Mentor new engineering leads to become more effective managers and leaders, and level up high performing Individual Contributors to become leaders Candidate Profile 5+ years of experience managing teams with 5+ engineers and providing technical leadership 5+ years of professional experience developing software 1+ years of experience actively developing with Generative AI in a professional capacity Experience designing, writing, testing, and maintaining fullstack applications Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership for teams and/or projects Deep interest in developing the careers of your team members and growing their leadership skills Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills Curiosity, excitement, and ability to quickly learn new things in the domains of computer science, software engineering, and artificial intelligence Success Measures In three months, you have begun forming professional relationships with all of your team members and started to learn their interests, strengths and areas of expertise. You have been fully onboarded to relevant sections of our codebase and will have contributed to the development of an ongoing project. You have started tracking and reporting your team's progress to stakeholders. You have started getting involved with planning the product roadmap In six months, we're relying on you for reviewing code and new feature designs, as well as interviewing potential new hires. You have worked with each engineer reporting to you on a growth plan for them to achieve their career goals. Your team has achieved several key milestones towards delivering a fully scalable and performant solution. In twelve months, you have led the team towards achieving their objectives for the fiscal year. You have a clear understanding of the longer term roadmap and objectives and how to accomplish them with your team. You have established your role as a leader in the organization such that team members naturally go to you for guidance.
