Offset Press Operator Sheet-Fed Labels & Packaging

Purpose of the Position Operate, set up, and maintain sheet‑fed presses to produce premium printed labels that meet specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. Core Responsibilities Run and maintain sheet‑fed equipment to achieve customer and job‑ticket outcomes. Interpret job orders to define substrates, inks, coatings, and finishing needs. Prepare the press: load sheets, mount plates/blankets, set ink/water balance, and ensure precise registration and color. Monitor production and adjust ink flow, impression, and feed to keep quality consistent. Conduct in‑process quality inspections to company and customer standards. Diagnose and resolve press/print issues to reduce downtime and waste. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance; report major repair needs promptly. Maintain safety standards and a clean, organized pressroom. Partner with supervisors, production, and quality to meet deadlines and requirements. Qualifications Experience operating sheet‑fed offset or digital presses (Heidelberg, Komori, KBA, or similar). Knowledge of substrates used for labels, tags, cartons, or specialty packaging. Strong color management skills and attention to detail. Ability to read job tickets, schedules, and quality specs. Preferred familiarity with offset, UV, and water‑based inks and coatings. Mechanical aptitude with capability for adjustments and minor repairs. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs; thrive in a fast‑paced setting. Team orientation with dependable communication and reliability.
