Margolis, MD Institute for Health Policy The Institute pursues innovative, evidence‑based solutions to improve health equity and the value of health care. It partners with internal schools of medicine, nursing, law, public policy, business and engineering, and external stakeholders including foundations, private sector organizations, state and federal agencies, and global entities. Occupational Summary Duke‑Margolis is hiring two Senior Policy Analysts to support its Health Care Transformation research team. One analyst will focus on research related to North Carolina’s health care transformation, rural health policy, and community‑centered care. The other will focus on Medicare Advantage, Original Medicare, payment and delivery reform, implementation science, technology‑driven care, and rapid learning. Primary Responsibilities The Senior Policy Analyst will conduct health‑care research, write policy briefs, manage project deliverables, coordinate events and convenings, engage stakeholders, and analyze policy data. Minimum Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as policy, public health, public administration, economics, science, engineering, law, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Four years of experience in policy, research, data analysis, or a related position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Desired Skills and Experience Familiarity with rural health systems, rural communities, or regional health‑care delivery challenges. Experience with stakeholder convening, facilitation, or learning collaboratives. Experience with mixed‑methods or implementation‑focused policy research. Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, R, Stata, SAS, or Python. Strong research and writing abilities and excellent written communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with senior‑level policymakers, stakeholders, and organizations. Familiarity with current trends and regulations in relevant policy areas. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Comfort with a fast‑paced environment and flexibility to respond to changing needs. Proficient with standard computing software (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Training or experience in health policy, public policy, public health, data science, or patient safety preferred. Project coordination or project management experience preferred. Benefits and Compensation The annual base salary range for this position is USD $68,880–$127,925.
