Health Information Coordinator
In any medical facility there are people who keep things running smoothly. People who make who can be subject matter experts and who can keep up with the fast pace without blinking an eye. These jobs may not ever be noticed by the patient in fact, when done well they shouldn't be noticed but they are an important part of making that patient's experience a positive one. Our Health Information Coordinators are just this kind of job. They set the stage that allows high-quality health care to happen.
What You Can Expect
- Work Location: This position works at either the ESSC or CBO
- ESSC: 421 Emerson Ave., Greenwood, IN
- CBO: 2434 Interstate Plaza Drive, Hammond, IN
- Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8-4:30
- Assist department leadership with the coordination of essential HIM functions and workflows.
- Assist with process improvement and standardization of HIM workflow.
- Conduct quality reviews for focused studies related to accreditation requirements.
- Monitor work queues and manage system issues.
- Perform HIM essential functions and workflow duties, as needed, in the department.
- Serve as subject matter expert on essential HIM functions and workflows.
- Answer inquiries from departments regarding the HIM system and resolve issues or escalate, as appropriate.
- Participate in the planning and testing of new systems and upgrades.
- Flexible work location onsite at one of our Franciscan locations: Indianapolis IN, Hammond IN, Lafayette IN
Qualification
- Associate's Degree Health Information Management - Required
- 2 years Healthcare setting - Preferred
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) within 180 days - Required
Travel Is Required: Never or Rarely
Job Range: HIM Coordinator $16.50-$23.25
