Travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer - Sonography/Ultrasound

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist for a night shift travel assignment requiring at least 1 year of hospital or acute care sonography experience and RDMS certification.

Job Details

• Work in a hospital radiology department with 4 ultrasound rooms,
• Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric,
• Average patient ratio of 8-10 patients per 8-hour shift,
• Uses Siemens Acuson S200 and GE Logiq E10 ultrasound equipment,
• EMR system is Allscripts and PACS system is InteleRad,
• Night shift schedule from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday to Thursday,
• 13-week assignment,
• Opportunities for extra shifts within the department, including possible Breast ultrasound shifts,
• Weekends covered by dedicated weekend staff,
• No on-call requirements for travelers,

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience with a wide array of ultrasound exposure,
• Clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting required, with exposure to general, vascular, and OB-GYN sonography,
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and pathology with the ability to distinguish normal from abnormal findings,
• Basic scanning skills with solid understanding of sonographic physics and techniques,
• BLS and RDMS certification required,
• NH MIRT Licensure required, with certification in hand prior to consideration,
• License required if applicable,
• Preferred additional certifications include RVT, OB-GYN, and AB,
• Preferred experience in the OR and with ultrasound-guided procedures,
• 1 year of experience beyond education preferred,

Additional Information

• Perform procedures including thoracentesis, paracentesis, FNAs (thyroid, parotid, lymph node), soft tissue mass or lymph node biopsies, liver and renal biopsies, drainages (abscess, cyst, hematoma, gallbladder), and thrombin injections,
• May assist with OR-based procedures such as breast needle placements, carotid studies, D&Cs, and prostate biopsies,
• Team includes 14 staff members with 4 sonographers on day shift, 1 on second shift, and 1 on night shift, plus a supervisor,
• Ideal candidates are hardworking, motivated self-starters who are compassionate, team-oriented, and adaptable,
• Must adhere to attendance, PTO, and exam protocol policies,
• Scrub attire is any color professional, clean-appearing scrubs or radiology-themed t-shirts,
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible,
• No local candidates will be considered
