Controller (open to relocation candidates)

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a Controller who wants to be more than a traditional back-office accountant to join their team! This position is located in St. Louis, Missouri.

This is a highly visible role working closely with senior leadership, contributing to business performance, and helping scale a dynamic organization.

Duties:

• Own the accounting function, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and scalability of financials
• Bring structure and efficiency to the month-end close process
• Improve reporting cadence and key performance metrics
• Serve as a key financial partner to leadership
• Lead budgeting and forecasting to support business decisions
• Partner with teams across the organization to align financials with operational performance
• Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide actionable insights
• Identify cost savings and margin improvement opportunities
• Oversee key accounting processes, including allocations and reporting
• Build and enhance processes and internal controls to support growth
• Help scale the financial infrastructure in a fast-paced environment
• Lead and develop the accounting function over time
• Drive continuous improvement through process optimization and technology
• Support related administrative and financial operations as needed

Desired Skills/Experience:

• 5+ years of experience with increasing ownership and leadership responsibility
• Experience in investment environments, real estate, or other fast-paced industries preferred
• Strong analytical, forecasting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to bring structure and accountability to financial processes
• Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
• Naturally curious with a proactive, solution-oriented approach
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
• Strong attention to detail with a forward-looking mindset

The approximate pay range for this position is between $140,000 - $175,000 . Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
