Become a Volunteer with Lighthouse Hospice!
Make a lasting difference in someone’s life. We’re seeking kind, compassionate volunteers to provide comfort, companionship, and connection to our patients and their families. All training and ongoing support are provided by our Volunteer Coordinator. All you need to bring is your heart.
Volunteers are not paid employees and do not receive compensation for their time.
Patient Care Volunteers visit patients at their home on a weekly basis, or as needed. These visits are solely for companionship and socialization. Some examples of duties would include, but are not limited to, listening to music, conversing, assisting with a hobby, etc. Patient Care Volunteers also provide a positive, supportive, and respectful environment for the patient, family, and staff members.
Currently assisting individuals in the Chicago Western Suburbs.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and automotive insurance, if traveling to make patient visits.
- Successful completion of a background check is required.
