Chief of Staff, Care Delivery

What you’ll do The Chief of Staff, Care Delivery is a high‑impact role serving as a force multiplier to the lead of the Care Delivery organization. The position oversees approximately 500 clinical and operational staff across multiple disciplines and drives clarity, alignment, and execution across the organization. It operates with autonomy, exercising sound judgment in ambiguous situations and serving as a trusted partner to senior leadership. Key Responsibilities Execution & Priority Management Act as an extension of the Care Delivery lead, translating priorities into structured workplans, owners, and measurable outcomes. Track and drive progress on the highest‑priority initiatives. Identify where cross‑functional efforts are stalling, misaligned, or under‑resourced and intervene to get them back on track. Contribute to the preparation for high‑stakes external engagements, including board meetings and partner business reviews. Cross‑Functional Coordination Serve as the primary connective tissue between Care Delivery and its partners across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Marketing, and Business Development. Ensure cross‑functional dependencies are surfaced early, decisions are documented, and workstreams advance with appropriate urgency. Lead or co‑lead working groups on behalf of the care delivery lead where delegation is appropriate. Own the operating rhythm of the Care Delivery organization, including leadership team meetings, planning cycles, and executive communications. Operational Performance & Insight Monitor organizational performance against clinical, operational, and financial KPIs, synthesizing signals into clear, actionable leadership views. Identify emerging risks to quality, capacity, or financial performance and develop structured recommendations for leadership response. Support capacity planning and workforce strategy by modeling tradeoffs and synthesizing inputs across clinical and operational functions. Communications & Organizational Effectiveness Draft high‑quality written communications on behalf of the Care Delivery lead, including memos, strategic updates, board materials, and stakeholder briefings. Ensure the Care Delivery lead is well‑prepared, well‑informed, and able to focus on the highest‑leverage decisions and relationships. Help maintain a high‑performance culture within the organization by supporting clarity of direction, accountability, and follow‑through. What leads to success People‑first orientation: the mission and members matter deeply. MBA, preferred. 5‑7 years of experience in roles requiring structured execution and cross‑functional influence. Background in healthcare operations, clinical program management, or a closely adjacent field. Experience in value‑based care or oncology a meaningful plus. Strong operational acumen, comfortable with data, dashboards, and performance management. Experience partnering with clinical stakeholders in a matrixed organization. Skills & capabilities Exceptional written and verbal communication; able to distill complex, multi‑threaded situations into executive‑ready narratives. Strong analytical and structured thinking; comfortable building frameworks and making recommendations under uncertainty. High organizational intelligence; able to navigate competing priorities and build trust across functions. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high‑priority workstreams simultaneously without losing precision. Proficiency in performance management tools, operational dashboards, and project management frameworks. Additional attributes Effective listener and communicator; builds rapport and relationships. Adaptable; proven in scaling businesses, fast‑paced environments, and startups. Grit; willing to get hands dirty but also connect strategy to performance. Tech‑savvy; comfortable with video conferencing, Google Suite, Slack, electronic health records. Proactive; recognize and prioritize team needs and go the extra mile. Benefits The base salary for this role is $187,000–$220,000. The compensation package includes equity and benefits as part of Thyme Care’s total compensation.
