Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor 2nd Shift

Location: Hanover Park, IL 60133

Salary Range: $55k - $60k per annum

Signing bonus:

$5,000 after completion of first 90 days

$5,000 after completion of first 180 days

Position Type: Direct Hire

Schedule: Second Shift. Work Hours are 2:00 pm until finish.

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on and results-driven Warehouse Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations and support our growing distribution team in Chicago. This position plays a critical role in ensuring efficient receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping operations, and workplace safety while driving productivity and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with warehouse supervisory experience, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-performing work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations & Leadership

• Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping.
• Lead, motivate, and develop warehouse associates to achieve operational goals and productivity targets.
• Train, coach, and onboard new employees to ensure compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
• Monitor workflow and staffing levels to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Partner closely with the Warehouse Manager to support operational planning and administrative functions.

Inventory & Quality Control

• Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee inventory control processes.
• Monitor stock levels and warehouse organization to ensure efficient product flow.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure products are stored, handled, and shipped according to company quality standards.

Safety & Compliance

• Promote and maintain a culture of workplace safety.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, HACCP, and all applicable warehouse and transportation regulations.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and reinforce best practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready warehouse environment.

Performance Management

• Track productivity, labor utilization, and operational costs.
• Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Monitor team performance and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.

Additional Responsibilities

• Support special projects and operational initiatives as assigned.
• Perform other duties as needed to support business objectives and warehouse operations.

Qualifications

Required Experience

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of warehouse leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment.
• Experience managing diverse workforces, including unionized employees, is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong leadership, team-building, and employee development skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Google Workspace).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to push or pull up to 80 pounds.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions, including refrigerated and freezer environments.
• Ability to work around moderate warehouse noise and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
