BloqUV (est. 2009) is a lifestyle sun protective activewear brand. The brand is distributed 500+ plus accounts. Including golf, racquet sports, swim, surf, resort, hiking, boating, equestrian stores, dermatologist offices and BloqUV.com.

Position summary

BloqUV is looking for a Design & Production Manager. This role develops new designs and colors, manages communications with our factories and mills, is responsible for inventory management and subsequently plans our factory purchase orders. In addition, the position manages our 3 rd party wholesale logo business. 

Key responsibilities

Design and product development

• Lead product development for new styles, from concept and tech pack through approved production fit samples.
• Develop new colors and designs.
• Manage fit samples and photoshoot samples.
• Keep an ongoing list of future product needs based on sales, inventory and customer sales orders.

Production and sourcing

• Write and issue purchase orders.
• Serve as the main point of contact with factories regarding costing, timelines and production issues.
• Maintain files on pricing by factories.
• Shop competitively to understand retail pricing opportunities and concerns.
• Manage production flow from PO through placement, shipment and invoicing.
• Maintain an up-to-date delivery schedule by style and color.
• Run quality control on samples and incoming production and resolve defects with suppliers.

Inventory management

• Monitor stock levels by style, color and size and plan reorders
• Collaborate with Warehouse Manager to flag low-stock and out-of-stock items before they affect sales. 
• Consistent communication with marketing team on deliveries of new styles, colors and back in stocks.

Logo program

• Manage logo work for sales reps and wholesale customers including artwork, approvals and production.
• Track dollar volume and order count for logo work.
• Manage logo backorders and keep reps and customers updated on ship dates.
• Maintain files on each wholesale logo work including customer approvals.
• Handle communication with 3 rd party embroiderer/silk-screener.

Wholesale and B2B support

• Support wholesale operations with product, inventory and delivery information.
• Maintain the B2B portal: product listings, images, availability and pricing.
• Coordinate samples for sales reps.

Catalog and photoshoots

• Layout the product catalog each season in conjunction with the marketing team.
• Assist in photoshoots.
• Make sure catalog, portal and marketing content match current product and availability.

Qualifications

Required

• 2+ years in apparel design or product development, ideally in activewear or performance fabrics, including some hands-on production experience.
• Must be able to design and write complete tech packs, with strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, fabrics and trims.
• Experience writing POs, tracking production and managing inventory.
• Strong organizational skills: able to track many styles, colors and deadlines at once.
• Clear, prompt communicator with suppliers, sales reps and internal teams.
• Adobe Illustrator and photoshop is a must: advanced skills for flats, tech packs, logo artwork and colorways; Excel is also a must, for POs, inventory tracking and delivery schedules. Knowledge of QuickBooks on-line is preferred. 
• Multi-tasking is a must
