Technical Lead, Sample Management - 1st Shift

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Technical Lead for Sample Management at its Covington, Kentucky laboratory facility. This first-shift onsite role involves overseeing sample handling operations, leading staff, implementing process improvements, and ensuring compliance with manufacturing standards and quality protocols.

Responsibilities

• Create work schedules, assign tasks, train staff, and assess competency levels
• Oversee sample accessioning, routing, storage, shipment, de-identification, and destruction
• Monitor and maintain environmentally controlled storage units and equipment
• Investigate and resolve sample, shipment, and process issues; manage deviation reports
• Recommend and implement operational improvements and IT enhancements

Requirements

• 0-5 years of relevant experience in sample management or laboratory operations
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational or academic qualification
• 1+ year of leadership or supervisory responsibility
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency with computers and enterprise software applications
• Critical thinking and decision-making capabilities
• Demonstrated commitment to procedures, policies, and regulatory compliance
