SUMMARY MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor, Clinical Faculty , to join the Department of General Oncology at our Houston-area location in League City, Texas, with a subspecialty focus on Thoracic/ Head & Neck Oncology . The successful candidate will provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for patients with thoracic and head & neck malignancies while partnering with colleagues across MD Anderson's disease-site programs. This faculty position offers the opportunity to develop a robust clinical practice, participate in clinical research, including clinical trials, and contribute to the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering exceptional patient care, fostering multidisciplinary collaboration, and supporting the department's missions in clinical excellence, research, and education. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical The successful candidate will provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for patients with thoracic and head & neck malignancies while developing a clinical practice within the Department of General Oncology. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary disease-site teams, participating in inpatient and outpatient clinical services, and fostering a collaborative teaching environment for fellows, residents, and medical students. Administrative The successful candidate will collaborate with physicians, scientists, and multidisciplinary care teams while contributing to the academic and clinical missions of the Department of General Oncology. Responsibilities include representing the department at local, regional, and national professional activities, participating in institutional and departmental committees, serving as a role model for faculty and trainees, and supporting peer review and other departmental initiatives. Research Faculty are expected to actively participate in clinical research and scholarly activities that advance the department's academic mission. Opportunities include collaborating on clinical trials, publishing scholarly work, developing educational initiatives, mentoring trainees, and pursuing research funding to support clinical and educational programs. Education & Teaching The successful candidate will provide teaching and mentorship to medical students, residents, fellows, and other learners in both the outpatient clinic and inpatient consult service. Faculty are expected to participate in departmental conferences, continuing medical education activities, and fellowship education while fostering a collaborative learning environment. Qualifications M.D., D.O., or M.D./Ph.D. Board eligible or board certified in Medical Oncology and Hematology Eligible for or licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas Experience At least two years of experience as an Instructor or five years post-degree with a combination of experience as a clinician, clinical scientist, or GME trainee (except specialties with shorter residency or fellowship training) Appropriate post-doctoral training in Medical Oncology/Hematology or a related discipline The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center offers excellent benefits, including medical, dental, paid time off, retirement, tuition benefits, educational opportunities, and individual and team recognition.
