Overview The Driver at Miller Healthcare is responsible for safely transporting residents, staff, and visitors to and from appointments, activities, and events across all Riverside Senior Life Communities. This role ensures that all transportation is conducted in a timely, safe, and courteous manner. The Driver is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and proper operation of the vehicle, as well as assisting residents in boarding and exiting the vehicle. Demonstrates flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure. Essential Duties
Compensation
Pay Range USD $17.66 - USD $21.10 /Hr
- Transportation: Safely transport residents, staff, and visitors to various locations, including medical appointments, community events, and other designated locations within the Riverside Senior Life Communities.
- Resident Assistance: Provide assistance to residents in boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the journey.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of the vehicle, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and overall vehicle condition. Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while operating the vehicle. Ensure that all passengers are securely seated and that any mobility devices are properly secured.
- Schedule Adherence: Follow the transportation schedule as provided by the supervisor, making adjustments as necessary to accommodate residents needs or unforeseen circumstances.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents or issues that occur during transport.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and supervisors regarding transportation schedules, delays, or any issues that arise during transport.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of supplies or equipment as needed.
- Perform light cleaning of the vehicle interior and exterior to maintain a clean and welcoming environment for passengers.
- Support other departments with errands or deliveries as requested.
- Strong knowledge of local roads and routes, excellent driving skills, and a commitment to safety. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with a focus on providing compassionate and respectful service to elderly residents.
- Must be physically able to assist residents with mobility challenges and operate wheelchair lifts or other assistive devices. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record required.
- CDL with passenger endorsement preferred but not required.

- OSHA Compliance: Adherence to OSHA regulations is required, including safe handling of chemicals, proper vehicle maintenance, and ergonomic practices to reduce the risk of injury. Regular safety inspections and following procedures for lifting and assisting residents are mandatory.
- ADA Compliance: The role must comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), providing reasonable accommodations to residents and ensuring that all transportation services are accessible. The Driver is also expected to receive training to assist residents with disabilities in a safe and respectful manner
