RN Throughput Coordinator - Evenings and Nights

Hourly Pay Range:

$43.69 - $67.72 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Location: Skokie, IL
• Part time: 24 hours
• Hours: evening and night shift rotating: 1500-2330/1900-0730/2300-0730. Will include weekend and holiday rotation
• Required Travel: no

What you will do:

• The RN Throughput Coordinator is responsible for coordinating safe, timely, and equitable patient placement using clinical judgment, bed availability data, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

• This role promotes critical thinking through evidence-based decision-making, effective communication, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement in throughput processes.

• The RN Throughput Coordinator acts as a liaison between nursing units, providers, the ED, procedural areas, and ancillary departments to optimize hospital capacity and support high-quality outcomes.

This role provides hospital and system wide oversight for patient flow

What you will need:

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required: Master's Degree in a health‑related field preferred

License: Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of Illinois.

Certification: Current BLS from the American Heart Association

Experience: Minimum of three years of progressive acute care nursing experience, with at least one year in a formal or informal leadership role (e.g., Charge Nurse, Team Lead, Supervisor).

Unique or Preferred Skills:

• Demonstrated leadership ability with experience in conflict resolution, open communication, and staff development.
• Knowledge of hospital throughput systems.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills needed to work in a collaborative practice setting with an interdisciplinary team and to interact effectively with patients, physicians, payers, reviewers and other agencies.
• Excellent skills in the following areas: critical thinking, problem identification and resolution, adoption to change, decision making, and negotiating.
