Fabrication Shop Estimator (Pltx)We are seeking a Fabrication Shop Estimator to join our team in Plano, Texas. The Fabrication Shop Estimator is responsible for determining the accurate cost for producing manufactured products. The estimator is to ensure all information is obtained to perform job requirements successfully and support any supplier collaborations. The estimator will work with the Fab Shop General Manager, Program Manager and business unit engineering to develop solutions to properly estimate the manufacture of the component; finalize and provide detail quotations.ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities include but are not limited to; determining proper material, operations, labor and machines to be utilized in production for each part quoted:Preparing estimates for the manufacture of parts, components and assemblies including material, labor, tooling, inspection and any outside processingReview and clearly understand customer scope, specifications, and required quality standards from the contract Technical Data PackageReview and analyze customer prints, CAD models, specifications, and applicable standardsGather material estimates from suppliersGather quotes/pricing from external service providers (i.e. steel supply, metal cutting, non-destructive testing, and paint shops)Effectively estimate labor required for manufacturing, including sheet metal, machining, welding and mechanical assembly for build-to-print fabricationsDevelop and maintain estimating standardsDevelop manufacturing process steps in conjunction with engineering and shop leadership; estimate labor run times to support that processProduce detailed, supported estimates to include actual vendor pricesIdentify risks associated with projectsMaintain and update quoting standardsQualificationsBachelors Degree or tradesperson with industry experienceMinimum of three (3) years of estimating experience in the fabrication industry or equivalent industry experienceStrong knowledge of sheet metal, machining, welding and finish fabrication processesExperience with CNC machinery, laser cutting, or press brake operationsRobust interpretation of engineering drawings with a solid understanding of GD&TStrong math, analytical, and attention-to-detail skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlinesStrong organizational skills with attention to detailProject management experience is a strong asset and will help support job planning, coordination, and execution.Strong time-management skills; ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)Working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCADExperience in Aerospace & Defense is considered an assetValid Driver's licenseTargeted salary range is $80,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.Physical Demands:Must be able to lift up to 20 or more poundsMust be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of timeMust be able to twist, bend and squat periodicallySECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: There are currently no Security Clearance requirements for this position; however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check.
