Job Description Sun River Health is looking to hire a Part Time Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Sutphin Blvd., Queens, NY. The Nurse Practitioner will work under the direction of a physician and be responsible for planning, evaluating, and delivering the health care of patients on assigned services. The role emphasizes preventative health measures and patient education. Job Type: Part‑time Hourly Rate: 87,118.20‑94,149.90 (22.5 hrs/week, 3 days) Essential Duties And Responsibilities Takes histories, performs physical examinations, gives immunizations (as necessary) and does patient education and counseling. Orders appropriate lab work, draws blood for lab work if needed, and performs some lab tests such as wet prep microscopic exams. Prescribes treatment for minor illnesses, and consults with physician regarding medication, chronic illness and referrals when appropriate. Maintains legible and appropriate documentation and reviews records periodically. Does follow‑up of abnormal Pap smears and reportable STD’s. Attends case conferences involving patients. Attends continuing education programs to increase skills and knowledge. Attends provider meetings and participates in quality improvement programs and team assignments. Identifies and categorizes each patient’s age‑specific grouping of needs, such as infants, adolescents or geriatric patients. Follows OSHA standards of infection control under CDC guidelines endorsed by the department, organization, and overseen by the Infection Control Officer. Provides safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity, quality and patient satisfaction standards. Minimum Education Requirement Master’s Degree Preferred Work Experience 1‑2 years of experience in primary care Minimum Licensure Valid license as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State and CPR/BLS certification Required Skills & Knowledge Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures that Nurse Practitioners are trained to perform and that are necessary for practicing in health care centers. Competence in delivery of health care to patients (including preventative health education) Ability to collaborate with other members of the health center in order to maintain high quality standards and achieve client satisfaction.
