Consultant Pharmacist - Behavioral Health / Psychiatric Hospital

Currently seeking a Consultant Pharmacist in Behavioral Health / Psychiatric Hospital Full-time position available in Trenton, NJ. Must have NJ Board of Pharmacy license. Our Consultant Pharmacists are professionals who are trained to share responsibility for the patient's medication regimen, thorough knowledge of clinical outcomes, quality assurance, state and federal regulations, and health care education. Area of focus will include the use of psychoactive medications. Apply specialized knowledge of the scientific and clinical use of medications; including medication action, dosing, adverse effects, and drug interactions. Active role in the development and implementation of protocols and drug utilization. Monitor medication administration / safety through performance indicator reviews and data presentations. Staff Education Provide education to the nursing staff through in-services and education material. Interdisciplinary relationships: Strives to develop a good working relationship with the medical and nursing staff in addition to other multidisciplinary departments by actively seeking out opportunities to improve patient care. The practitioner routinely attends meetings, Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee and Medication Safety committee.
