Newborn Hearing ScreenerWe are seeking a Newborn Hearing Screener for a long-term, per diem role in our Brandon, FL location. Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is a premiere clinical and academic health system, providing expert pediatric care for infants, children, and teens with some of the most challenging medical problems. Ranked in multiple specialties by U.S. News & World Report, we provide access to innovative treatments and therapies. With more than half of the 259 beds in our teaching hospital devoted to intensive care level services, we are the regional pediatric referral center for Florida's West Coast. Physicians and community hospitals count on us to care for critically ill patients and perform complex surgical procedures. The location for this role is in Bradenton, FL.Position Summary: The Newborn Hearing Screener performs hearing screenings for newborns at various hospital locations. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective strategies to maximize accurate test results and provide excellent patient care.Location: Brandon, FLShift: Days; Casual/On CallKey Accountabilities:Performs hearing screenings in assigned locations, following established protocols and proceduresFollows test protocols to ensure minimum age, patient test state, and stable criteria are met before screeningUses appropriate test techniques for preparation and proper electrode placement to ensure accurate resultsCommunicates the newborn hearing screening process and results to parents and provides appropriate educational materialsAccurately submits billing paperwork within the same working day of hearing screeningIdentifies all new births and enters patient demographic data into the screening equipmentPerforms proper hand hygiene and follows established equipment cleaning protocols to maintain a safe and healthy environmentDemonstrates service excellence and provides a safe environment for patient careRequirements:High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion, or equivalent achievementCurrent BLS certificationAbility to read, write, speak, and understand EnglishEntry level is encouraged to applyWhat We Offer:Competitive hourly rateOpportunities for professional growth and developmentFlexible scheduling to accommodate your needsRecognition and reward for outstanding performanceSalary Range: Minimum $16.25/hour - Maximum $25.11/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
