Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Mental Health Counselor to join a multidisciplinary substance use treatment team in an inpatient setting. This full-time role is ideal for a licensed or permit-eligible counselor who is passionate about supporting individuals through detox, rehabilitation, and long-term recovery.

The counselor will manage a structured caseload, provide individual and group counseling, conduct assessments, and support patients through treatment planning and aftercare coordination. A sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 may be available for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of approximately 8-10 clients
• Conduct daily individual and group counseling sessions
• Complete intake assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and admission documentation
• Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans
• Provide case management, crisis intervention, and aftercare planning
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
• Ensure compliance with OASAS inpatient detox and rehabilitation regulations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary clinical and support teams
• Meet documentation deadlines and quality standards
• Support patients throughout detox, medication-assisted treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery phases

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Counseling, Mental Health, Social Work, or a related field
• NYS Licensure as LMHC OR Limited Permit (MHC-LP) / Permit Eligible
• Experience in substance use disorder treatment or behavioral health preferred
• Strong knowledge of counseling techniques, treatment planning, and crisis intervention
• Familiarity with OASAS regulations preferred
• Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Compensation:

• Hourly Rate: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour (based on experience)
• Sign-On Bonus: Up to $5,000 (eligibility based on qualifications)
