Data Center Facilities EngineerR+L Carriers' Information Technology Department is growing in Columbus, Ohio and has an immediate opening for a Data Center Facilities Engineer to be responsible for the oversight and monitoring of building operations, HVAC, electrical, BMS, emergency generators and fire/life safety systems.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Manage all maintenance of all data center components including, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, grounds, sub-station, generators, UPS systems, static switches, fire detection/suppression systems, security systems.Manage all aspects of preventive maintenance including regularly scheduled site maintenance, contractor work, electrical switching and MOP's (Method of Procedure)Responsible for all auditing and reporting regarding the data center.Ensure data center operations are performing in an optimal state; includes all technical, electrical and mechanical direction while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.Maintain all technical documentation regarding corporate data centers, this includes procedures for the operationsTroubleshoot and run diagnostics, conduct preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on critical facilities equipment within the data center as specified and on schedule.Prepare analyses and reports on the data center infrastructure, develops project plans and conducts briefings and presentations.Operate and perform both routine and emergency service on a variety of state of the art critical systems, including but not limited to; medium voltage switchgear, diesel generators, paralleling switchboards, UPS, PDU, mechanical heat rejection systems, computer room air handles, chillers, fire detection/suppression and building monitoring systems.Respond to facility emergencies; ensures that operational, maintenance and emergency methods of procedure (MOPs and SOPs) are developed and strictly adhered to.Provide audits for power and mechanical capacity; troubleshoot, evaluate and recommend system upgrades.Coordinate with internal teams to trouble shoot problems and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action (CA) for design related problems.Qualifications:Proven experience in data center mission critical facilities operations, engineering, including experience with mission critical infrastructure (UPS, HVAC, generators, cooling, fire/life safety system, BMS).The ability to: Comprehend, analyze and interpret complex project documents, including AutoCAD, Visio and PDF documents.Manage projects effectively.Develop installation standards and project tracking/management documents.Interact effectively with managers, clients, customers and vendors.Ability to write SOPs or MOPs for automated building controls.A high level of commitment to customer service to both co-workers and clients.Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferredWe offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, a 401(k) retirement plan and free vacation lodging at our employee resorts in Daytona Beach, FL, Big Bear Lake, CA and Pigeon Forge, TN.
