Details Float pool position covering all TCUs, ICUs, ED, and PACU 12-hour Day/Night rotating shifts, with schedule cycles of 4 weeks that may alternate between day and night 1:2 patient ratio Cares for complex cardiovascular and transplant ICU patients requiring ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD, CRRT, and PA Catheter management Epic charting system preferred May float within a 75 mile radius to other facilities or departments as needed Requirements Active CA RN license required at time of submission BSN required AHA BLS and ACLS certification required, NIHSS preferred Minimum 4 years of recent ICU experience required ECMO experience within the last 6 months to 1 year required, including bedside RN management without dedicated perfusion support CVICU/CTICU/CCU experience required Trauma Level II and teaching hospital experience required Completed travel assignment within the past 12 months, with 1 year or less of total travel nursing experience in the past 5 years Ability to independently manage complex critical care patients Strong interpersonal and communication skills Experience with VA/VV/V-PA ECMO, CRRT (NxStage), IABP (Teleflex), Impella, and Ventricular Assist Devices strongly preferred Experience with heart/lung transplant recovery, cardiothoracic surgery recovery, and cardiogenic shock management strongly preferred Experience managing multiple concurrent support devices (e.g., ECMO CRRT, ECMO Impella) highly desirable 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration Additional Information Provide advanced critical care to patients with complex cardiovascular, transplant, and multi-organ support needs Work within UCSF's Integrated Critical Care (ICC) model, focusing on broad competency across cardiovascular critical care, transplant, and mechanical circulatory support Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed for rehire eligibility review All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed and approved at the time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract or within the first two weeks of the assignment Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers Travel pairs allowed but generally not placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit American Traveler Job ID P-740657.
