What You'll Do Read basic shop sketches, drawings and blueprints Interpret difficult isometric drawings and blueprints accurately Layout and fit up components per drawings and specifications with minimal supervision Pipe fit-up and fabrication of simple and complex systems Weld with all sizes of wire and electrodes Set up and operate electric and engine-driven welding equipment oxygen acetylene cutting equipment operate hand-held plasma-cutting equipment Operate rigging equipment and perform simple to complex rigging operations small and large Be able to identify different filler materials and uses Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations. What You'll Need 3-5yrs experience required of fabrication skills with structural and pipe shapes MSHA certification a plus Stick, MIG and TIG welding experience 6G qualifications preferred and must be proficient in acquiring D1.1 certification upon hire Experience with overhead cranes operation a plus Experience with the use of mobile cranes and crane signaling a plus Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or constant loud noise Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 60%) of job Work environment can involve exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, dependable, and able to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a repair shop environment.
