Controls Engineering Project Lead

TRC is seeking an experienced Controls Engineering Project Lead to manage controls engineering projects from concept through completion. This role will oversee the design, development, implementation, and commissioning of control systems for industrial automation and manufacturing applications while driving project execution, technical excellence, and customer satisfaction.

Location: Alpharetta, GA
Job Type: Direct Hire
Travel: North America as required

Key Responsibilities

• Lead controls engineering projects from design through commissioning and customer acceptance.

• Manage project schedules, resources, budgets, and deliverables.

• Oversee the development of PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions for automation systems.

• Coordinate with customers, project managers, and engineering teams to ensure project success.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to controls engineers.

• Monitor project progress, resolve technical challenges, and mitigate risks.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.

• Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field preferred.

• 10+ years of experience in controls engineering, industrial automation, or a related field.

• Proven experience leading automation or controls engineering projects.

• Strong knowledge of control system design, PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming.

• Experience with project management tools and methodologies.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to travel as needed throughout North America.
