Job Description
Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician

Profession: Sterile Tech

Certifications: BLS Certification, Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)

Must-Have: Must be available for on-call every third weekend and available through the first couple of weeks of January with some holiday availability. No disciplinary action on license will be accepted.

Description:
1 Sterile Processing Technician needed.
Years of experience required: 2.
Start date: As soon as possible.
Certifications required for this position: BLS, Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST).
Length of contract: As soon as possible through early January.
Guaranteed hours: 40 hours per week.
Call requirement: Every third weekend.
Unit notes: Confirmation needed in sub email.
Duties include working on cardiovascular (CV) cases which may involve CABG, valve repairs, aortic aneurysm repair, open and endovascular procedures, thoracotomy, carotids, femoral-popliteal vascular bypass, portacath insertion, and pacemaker placement.
Will also float to general cases when CV is not busy, including laparoscopic cholecystectomy, colon resections, hernia repairs, podiatry, some orthopedic ankle and wrist fractures, hysterectomy, and tubal procedures.
Approximately 70% of the cases are cardiovascular.
Scrubs are provided in green color.
Number of cases per day varies, with CV performing 1 to 5 cases a day at times zero.
Charting system used: MEDITECH 6.15.
Number of OR suites/rooms: 7, but typically running 4-5.
Cancellation policy: 1 shift per 4 weeks.
BSN not required.
Trauma level: Not specified.
Care setting: Acute.
Division: Allied.
Shift notes: Days, 1100-1930, on-call every third weekend.
