Psychologist/Social Worker/Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Position Overview The Department of Psychiatry at Albany Medical Center/Albany Medical College seeks full‑time Psychologists or Licensed Clinical Social Workers to join our team and expand the integration of behavioral health providers across the hospital. This role offers opportunities for clinical work in the outpatient faculty practice and within the consultation‑liaison service, as well as teaching, training, and collaborative research. Psychologists will provide treatment to the diverse community of the Capital Region and to students and trainees of Albany Medical College, and may participate in the APA‑accredited clinical psychology internship and psychiatry residency training programs. Key Responsibilities Provide clinical services in the outpatient faculty practice and consultation‑liaison settings. Supervise trainees, including postdoctoral fellows, psychology interns, practicum students, resident physicians, social workers, and mental health counseling students. Engage in teaching and training activities through the APA‑accredited internship and residency programs. Conduct collaborative research aligned with health equity and quality improvement initiatives for BIPOC, gender and sexual minorities, and other diverse populations. Qualifications We value candidates with a clinical, research, and teaching focus on practices and policies related to health equity and improving quality and care for diverse communities. Preferred candidates will have licensure as a Psychologist or Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a background in culturally competent care.
