Job Location The Glen at Lake Oconee Village - Greensboro, GA 30642 Summary Responsible and accountable for the organization, planning and development of all programming and regular activities that are fun and exciting for our residents. These activities will help maintain physical conditioning, overall health, improve appetite, and inspire new friendships. Responsibilities Creates and adheres to a monthly activity calendar. Speaks to and interacts with residents at all levels of care while showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect. Coordinates special events for residents, families, staff, and assists the community relations department as requested. Transports and supervises residents on outings, shopping trips, and doctor’s visits. Screens, recruits, trains, and coordinate’s all volunteers. Always maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents. Provides training, guidance, and support to staff to meet established performance standards and expectations. Acts as facilitator and takes minutes at resident council meetings. Follows up on any concerns voiced and discussed at the resident council meeting with the appropriate department manager. Provides resolution for reports and documents resolution at the next resident council meeting. Observes and reports to supervisor daily all changes in the resident’s health and emotional condition. Demonstrates the ability to set and manage priorities. Responds promptly and courteously to resident's request for assistance including phone calls and requests from family members and visitors. Communicates effectively in a language that each resident is capable of understanding. Observes and reports safety hazards immediately to supervisor. Practices good body mechanics and safe working habits. Knows, understands, and follows established policy and procedures in emergency situations. Responsible for being essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather. Works as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments. Demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies, and procedures. Demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude with residents, families, visitors, associates, and management. Complies with attendance and call off policy. Attends, participates in trainings, in-service, and mandatory meetings. Wears clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy. Refrains from discussing resident care issues with families and visitors and refers all inquiries to immediate supervisor. Responsible for enhancing and improving the SRI experience specifically in zestful activities for residents. Demonstrates and promotes SRI’s core value of the golden rule. Treats others including residents, families, visitors, and associates in the same manner we would like to be treated. Knows, understands, and complies with HIPAA regulations. Assists in mentoring new employees. Takes the initiative in work, seeks out additional information, offers solutions, and suggestions. Takes on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties. Serves and assists residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. Assists residents with Activities of Daily Living when needed. Performs all other reasonable duties as assigned or as requested. Language Ability Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Math Ability Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
