The position combines deep technical expertise in fund accounting with client relationship management, team leadership, and oversight of critical fund operations, including financial reporting, investor allocations, distribution waterfalls, and audit coordination. Our teams design, implement, and operate solutions that help clients manage data, automate processes, and scale their businesses with confidence.You will work with industry experts, modern platforms, and evolving technologies, gaining exposure to real-world operational challenges and large-scale enterprise environments.How You Will Make an Impact Manage multiple fund relationships, including scheduling and meeting all client deliverablesMaintain/manage client expectations and coordinate deliverables timelines with staffDemonstrate strong knowledge of accounting, specifically with respect to alternative investment funds, with a focus on private equity fundsParticipate in new business discussions with prospects and existing clientsPrepare and maintain goals and career development plans for all direct reportsPrepare semiannual performance appraisals and discussions for all direct reportsProvide guidance and direction to staff on all technical and client-service-related topicsReview fund governing documents, offering documents, subscription documents, side letters, and investment management agreements, in order to ensure proper application of fund termsReview all transaction documentation and supporting files, and understand the features of the investment transactions, accruals, etc.Review work paper files for accuracy and completeness, including capital activity, investment activity, income and expense accruals, valuation adjustments, etc.Review management fee calculations, including offsetable amounts, management fee waiver contributions, etc.Review investor allocations and capital account statementsReview capital call and distribution calculations, sources/uses of cash, allocations, and investor noticesCreate, maintain, and/or review distribution waterfall (carried interest) models, in keeping with the applicable fund termsPrepare and/or review financial statements, notes disclosures, and supporting schedulesDevelop/maintain robust review procedures around deliverablesManage the year-end audit process, in collaboration with the client and auditorsRequired ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field12+ years’ experience in accounting, with a focus on alternative investments funds – private equity experience a plus3+ years’ experience supervising two or more professional staffDirectly responsible for hiring and termination decisions as well as providing continuous performance feedback to staffHands-on management style with strong leadership skills and ability to develop staffDemonstrated project management skills with the ability to multi-taskExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skillsTeam playerWhat Sets You ApartMaster’s degree preferredCPA designation a plusFIS Investran experience a plusJoin SS&C, where innovation meets global opportunities. New Jersey: The expected base salary for the position is between $91,000 USD to $190,000 USD. New York: The expected base salary for the position is between $91,000 USD to $190,000 USD. Massachusetts: The expected base salary for the position is between $95,000 USD to $190,000 USD. In addition, employees in this role may be eligible for consideration on an annual basis for a discretionary bonus and/or equity awards, such as restricted stock units or stock options, based upon individual and business performance at the company’s discretion.
