Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives by providing dedicated 1:1 behavioral and academic support within an elementary school setting. This contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with a student diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD), following a structured Behavior Intervention Plan and collaborating with a supportive educational team. You’ll help establish consistency, foster independence, and provide critical bus and classroom support in an environment that values trauma-sensitive practices.

Your schedule will align with the school calendar, running Monday through Friday, typically from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, for a total of up to 37.5 hours each week through May 26, 2027.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year’s experience in behavioral support or trauma-informed paraprofessional roles, clearly listed on your resume
• Background in special education, behavioral support, psychology, social work, or trauma-informed care
• Well-developed skills in patience, emotional regulation, and de-escalation techniques
• Strong ability to follow structured behavior plans and maintain professional boundaries
• Must satisfy Pennsylvania’s paraprofessional standards—either by certification, 48+ college credits, associate degree (or higher), or willingness to complete a para certification within 60 days of start

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver daily 1:1 behavioral and academic assistance to your assigned student
• Ride the school bus with the student as required for additional support
• Adhere to behavioral protocols, emphasizing routine and predictability
• Respond with a calm, neutral approach to behavioral challenges and de-escalate situations proactively
• Assist the student in building independence while maintaining boundaries
• Collaborate with teachers and the special education team, including ongoing data collection and reporting
