Electro-Mechanical Technician

SUMMARY:

The Electrical Maintenance Technician performs work of routine difficulty related to equipment, building maintenance, and construction. This position supports production operations by maintaining equipment, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the facility operates safely and efficiently. Performs related work as assigned.

Shift: 2nd Shift 3:00 PM- 11:00 PM

Pay Rate: $30-40 an hour depending on Experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform maintenance tasks to support the production floor and overall facility operations

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment, including PLC-driven systems

• Perform preventative maintenance on machinery, building, and grounds as directed

• Detect and report defective materials or equipment conditions to management

• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition

• Follow all safety policies and procedures (LOTO, PPE, etc.)

• Ensure compliance with SQF and safety regulations

• Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner

• Participate in training programs (on-site and off-site as required)

• Maintain a professional presence with coworkers, vendors, and contractors

• Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or technical school education

• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

• Experience with general safety practices, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), forklift safety, and hazard awareness

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, OR CERTIFICATIONS:

• Ability to pass background check and drug screening

• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)

TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

• Experience in electrical, mechanical, and general facility maintenance

• Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and industrial equipment repair

• Ability to perform carpentry, plumbing, painting, and basic construction tasks

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals

• Proficient with hand tools and power tools

• Strong problem-solving and time management skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:

• Experience with computers and Microsoft Office Suite

• Familiarity with standard office equipment (phone, copier, etc.)

• Ability to safely work with maintenance tools, machinery, and facility systems

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

The physical demands and work environment described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

• Regular standing, walking, and use of hands and arms

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly; occasionally more

• Exposure to manufacturing environment (dust, noise, fumes, moving equipment)

• May be exposed to electrical hazards and varying temperatures

• Requires use of proper safety equipment (safety glasses, PPE)
