Senior Technology Lead / Solutions Architect

Our client's Investment Banking Technology group is seeking a Senior Technology Lead / Solutions Architect to drive engineering strategy, platform integration, and hands-on architectural execution across mission-critical banking technology capabilities in New York City. The role sits at the intersection of enterprise architecture, cloud engineering, and data-enabled workflow design, with a heavy emphasis on Microsoft Azure, enterprise search, and integration across front-office banking platforms. This is a high-visibility, client-facing engineering leadership role requiring exceptional communication, architectural depth, and the ability to mentor and elevate a development team. The position is hybrid, with an expectation of being onsite in NYC three days per week.

About the Client: The client is a global independent investment banking advisory firm known for high-touch client service, complex transactions, and a technology environment that must support:

• Deal teams requiring fast, secure access to data
• Integration across CRM, research, analytics, and data hubs
• Search and knowledge-management capabilities that surface insights across the firm
• Cloud modernization initiatives aligned to Azure
• Strict InfoSec, compliance, and data-governance standards

The technology organization is modernizing core platforms and building Azure-based, cloud-native capabilities to support bankers, research teams, and operations.

Enhanced Responsibilities:

• Lead enterprise integration across Investment Banking platforms, including CRM, data hubs, workflow engines, and enterprise search.
• Architect and deliver Azure-native solutions using App Services, Functions, Event-driven patterns, APIs, and secure cloud architecture.
• Drive engineering execution across full SDLC, ensuring scalable, resilient, secure delivery.
• Mentor and elevate engineering teams, establishing best practices in architecture, coding standards, DevOps, and cloud governance.
• Partner with InfoSec, DevOps, and vendor engineering teams to design compliant, secure, and supportable solutions.
• Shape long-term architectural strategy for IB Technology, including search, data workflows, and cloud modernization.

Enhanced Qualifications:

• 12–15+ years in software engineering and architecture, ideally in financial services or other regulated environments.
• Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, API Management, Event Grid, cloud security, identity).
• Strong engineering background in C#,.NET, Python, and modern API design.
• Experience with enterprise search, data pipelines, or knowledge-management platforms is a strong plus.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver complex integrations.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working in a high-visibility, front-office-adjacent environment.
