Slip Sheet Forklift Operator

Location: Lathrop, CA
Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Employment Type: Warehouse
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor

Position Summary

Empire Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Slip Sheet Forklift Operator to support warehouse operations in Lathrop, CA. The ideal candidate will have at least six months of warehouse experience and hands-on experience operating slip sheet equipment, double-deep stand-up high-reach forklifts, and sit-down forklifts with single and double attachments.

This position requires a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, productivity, and maintaining an efficient workflow in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and powered material handling equipment (MHE), including slip sheet equipment, double-deep stand-up high-reach forklifts, and sit-down forklifts with single and double attachments.
• Load, unload, move, stack, stage, and store products and materials throughout the warehouse.
• Receive inbound shipments and transport inventory to designated storage locations.
• Pick and prepare customer orders for shipment, verifying product types, quantities, and order accuracy.
• Inspect trailers, containers, pallets, and merchandise for damage before loading and shipping.
• Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory and complete warehouse transactions.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and follow FIFO/FEFO stock rotation procedures.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs or safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards and warehouse procedures.
• Assist with general warehouse duties, including sorting, restacking, labeling, wrapping, packing, and damage rework as needed.
• Communicate effectively with the Warehouse Supervisor and other departments to support daily operations.
  Quality
  Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variance.
  Safety, Housekeeping, Security
  Report any unsafe operating, warehouse, or safety issues to Warehouse Supervisor. Prevent usage of any equipment that presents a safety issue or concern. Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and other applicable standards. Report issues and problems to Management. Assist in daily cleanliness of all warehouse areas.
  Communication
  Coordinate as necessary with all other departments/functions especially Customer Services, Transportation, and Maintenance.
  Value Added Services
  May help with pick and pack, light assembly and record storage. Pick and pack is defined as order picking and/or assembly of light mechanical or electrical component parts or subassemblies that may require the use of hand tools. Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing and repacking
  General Labor
  Depending on customer volume, Forklift Operators may be assigned general labor tasks. Tasks include but are not limited to sorting, restacking, labeling, order prepping, damage rework, etc.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months of warehouse experience .
• Slip sheet forklift experience required.
• Experience operating double-deep stand-up high-reach and sit-down forklifts with single and double attachments.
• Familiarity with RF scanners preferred.
• Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience preferred.
• Ability to consistently lift, stack, and move up to 55 pounds .
• Ability to maintain a steady workflow during peak hours and periods of high volume.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe equipment operation.
• Ability to follow instructions, meet productivity expectations, and work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work a variable schedule as required by business needs.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Warehouse environment with frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, and repetitive movements.
• Frequent operation of forklifts and other powered material handling equipment.
• Ability to handle products weighing up to 55 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing operational demands.

Schedule Notice

The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. The schedule may vary depending on warehouse volume and operational needs. Candidates must be flexible to accommodate business requirements.
