Description This is a Union sponsored position, with pay rate subject to Union guidelines. Candidates must be members of the Operating Engineers Local No. 3 and meet Union specifications. Duties and Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of Grading operations Assure that all safety and quality measures are taken Coordinate with others including subcontractors, trucking and plant and perform other duties as assigned Travel is required and working in extreme weather conditions should be expected. Minimum Qualifications 3+ years of proven Grading experience. Supervisory and Strong communication skills (verbal and written) as well as basic computer skills Knowledge of all grading and paving equipment and operations Valid driver's license Strong commitment to quality, safety and customer satisfaction Able to read and understand plans Know how to set up and run GPS systems Finish blading with GPS controls Must pass a pre-employment drug screen Preferred Qualifications Experience: 5+ yrs of heavy civil construction experience with at least 5 years in overseeing grading construction. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong knowledge base of construction concepts, field application, and staging of work. Strong blueprint ready and analysis skills. Strong communication skills including troubleshooting, conflict resolution and problem solving. Strong resource planning, construction phasing and trade work coordination of assigned projects. Strong leadership skills Intermediate computer skills Ability to support world class safety culture.
