Lead Category Manager, Purchase Components

Assist in negotiations and lead management of individual supplier relationships Deliver year-over-year productivity and working capital goals Work with businesses and plants to achieve annual productivity and working capital targets Collaborate with Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal, Logistics, IT, and other functions Analyze procurement markets and attend trade fairs to identify potential sources Create global purchasing strategies for purchased-component categories including Sub-Con, Tires & Rims, Paint, Rubber, Rubber Components, and Belts Negotiate, implement, and manage supplier contracts and service-level agreements Execute tenders and benchmarks, conduct price comparisons, and optimize procurement conditions Initiate price and value analyses and pursue parts/material substitutions where necessary Implement procurement and sourcing processes, supplier development, and supplier scorecards Plan and implement projects, including portions of complex large-scale projects Requirements Bachelor’s degree required Minimum 3 years of strategic sourcing experience, including supplier selection, supplier management, and contract negotiations Minimum 3 years of category strategy or material field strategy experience Knowledge of procurement and sourcing techniques and strategies, supplier integration, and continuous improvement initiatives Special knowledge in relevant areas of responsibility, ideally outdoor equipment and/or power tools Proven track record of developing and executing successful year-over-year productivity projects Computer skills, including MS Office Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills Demonstrated effective leadership and facilitation skills Strong project management, program management, and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a matrixed environment while managing multiple and often conflicting priorities Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiations, with a proven ability to deliver productivity and working capital goals.
