Position Description

The Water Truck Driver drives water truck to transport water for construction projects. They may insert pipe in refilled trenches and other excavations, and operate auxiliary pump on truck to pump water into fill to settle and compact dirt. Must be able to maneuver hoses to connect and disconnect to the truck and water source.

• Observes and operates within applicable traffic laws.
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
• Performs all functions in accordance with JE Construction Services operations and safety guidelines.
• Performs an inspection of the exterior of the truck to ensure safe working conditions; including fueland oil levels before leaving work location.
• Performs pre and post trip inspections and reports to the dispatcher any cargo or equipment that is inoperable, missing, or loaded improperly.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and /or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, andJE Construction standards and guidelines.
• Maintains accurate logs and records.
• Ensures that equipment is maintained, kept clean and free of debris or safety hazards in accordance with JE Construction Services operating guidelines.
• Safely operates the truck to pick up and/or deliver cargo, as assigned by dispatcher.
• Regular attendance required.
• Report safety hazards.
• Immediately report incidents involving injury, illness, or property damage.
• Wears appropriate PPE as outlined in the Company's policy/guidelines.
• Complies with all JE Construction Services safety policies, procedures and rules.
• Refuses any unsafe task or operation.
• Participates in safety meetings and training.
• Consistently aware of their personal safety and that of their coworkers, and their surroundings.
• Ability to connect, disconnect, maneuver hoses to fill truck with water.
• Will need to adapt to other duties as required when not needed in the water truck.

Position Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must be able to comply with federal and state regulations.
• Must be able process alpha/numeric information accurately.
• Must be able to function in effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
• Must have the ability to think logically, follow procedures, instructions, and make sound decisions.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time., carry at least 30 pounds
• Be able to work outside all day in extreme weather conditions, hot and cold weather.

Education and Experience:

• Valid Class A or B CDL license with tanker endorsement. (Required)
• Valid DOT Medical Certificate and Medical Examiner's Report is required.
• D.O.T drug screen and D.O.T Reference
• Clean driving record to include: no DUI's within past 5 years, no more than two moving violations, and no more than one accident within past 3 years.
• 2+ years of driving experience in a comparable vehicle.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of operating equipment
• Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary.
• Must be able to operate equipment in all weather conditions
