Together, we create an environment where you can grow, contribute, and help improve the experience and outcomes for every patient we serve.Position Highlights:Downers Grove and HinsdaleOphthalmologyPosition Highlights:Full-Time, 40 hoursHours: Monday-Friday 7:45am-4:15pm; If covering for another provider, hours may vary from 7:30am-5pmTravel: Expected to clinics in Glen Ellyn, Naperville, and BloomingdaleBenefits:Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits that include healthcare navigation assistance.Access to a mental health benefit at no cost.Employer provided life and disability insurance.$5,250 Tuition Reimbursement per yearImmediate 401(k) match.40 hours paid volunteer time off.A culture committed to community engagement and social impact.Up to 12 weeks parental leave at 100% pay and a financial benefit for adoption and surrogacy for non-physician team members once eligibility requirements are met.Responsibilities:This individual is responsible for performing an extensive number of data collection functions, as delegated by the physician, to allow for proper diagnosis of the patients condition.Interacts with all patients using respect and professionalism.Communicates with patient about the processes and procedures taking place during their visit.Ascertains patient needs and unusual circumstances, via patient or family member.Seeks advice from more senior staff or doctors as necessary, never performing beyond capabilities.Provides telephone support regarding ocular emergencies, prescription refills and patient care questions.Adheres to approved policies and procedures.Obtains patient history to include chief complaint, history of present illness, past history, family history and history of allergies and medications.Completes accurate, concise documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).Performs accurate and consistent patient care procedures, including but not limited to: Visual acuityConfrontational visual fields, evaluation of motility and pupillary function testsApplanation tonometry and tono-pen tonometryRefractometryAngle assessment and dilation of pupilsAutomated visual field testingOphthalmic imagingRetina and optic nerve scanning (OCT)Corneal topographyKeratometry and pachymetryAssists in maintaining the exam rooms by cleaning between patients and at the end of the day.Cleans and sterilizes instruments.Prepares to take certification test.Maintains HIPAA compliancy.Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalentCertified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or is in the process of getting certificationMust get COT certification within one year of being employedMinimum of 2 years of experience working in ophthalmology/optometry settingFundamental experience working with standard ophthalmic evaluation equipment.The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $20.55-30.85 with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives.
