Key Responsibilities of the Psychiatric Registered Nurse

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care to geriatric patients
• Administer medications, including starting IVs and inserting Foley catheters
• Conduct blood draws and EKGs when necessary
• Collaborate with medical consult teams for patient condition assessments
• Maintain accurate patient records and care plans
• Ensure adherence to unit-specific procedures and protocols

Requirements of the Psychiatric Registered Nurse

• Current MA RN License
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Geriatric experience required
• BSN preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a patient ratio of 1:12 to 1:4
