About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Vascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 12 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: 1-2 Years Preferred License: Must have valid state RN license or Compact license prior to start Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac and Neuro experience required Epic experience required Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Vascular Intensive Care Unit. The assignment duration is 12 weeks. You will work night shifts. The hours per shift are 12, from 19:00 to 07:00. A minimum of 1 year of experience is required, with 2 years preferred. A valid state RN license or a Compact license must be obtained prior to starting. The required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Candidates must have cardiac and neuro experience as well as experience with Epic charting system. Travelers will have every other weekend requirements and will be expected to float within scope to meet facility needs. You will be required to adhere to holiday rotation. In addition, all requested time off must be included at the time of submission. Please be aware that personnel may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs from June through November each year. Candidates must be open to accommodating block schedules upon request, but approval is not guaranteed. The facility maintains a staff ratio of 1:2 during shifts. Daily care responsibilities will include managing patients post-open heart surgery and other related intensive care procedures. Candidates should possess skills in managing and caring for complex cardiovascular and neuro patients. Additional competencies include managing arterial lines, central lines, and assisting with various critical care procedures.
