Registered Respiratory Therapist - Pediatric Specialty

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts will be 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with every other weekend required and holiday rotations.

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) will work within the pediatric unit, primarily focusing on Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) patients. The clinician will be responsible for the assessment, treatment, and management of patients requiring respiratory care, and will work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team to provide the highest level of care.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy and life support to patients.
• Perform diagnostic testing and interpret data to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide education to patients and families about respiratory care and treatment methods.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the Epic charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in NICU or Pediatric ICU.
• Current RRT certification and state licensure as a Respiratory Care Provider.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
• Experience with bronchoscopy, extubation, and critical care pediatric practices.
• Epic experience is preferred.
