We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support donation processing and financial recordkeeping for a mission-driven organization in Oxnard, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-focused, and comfortable managing sensitive financial and donor information with discretion. The person in this role will help ensure donation activity is documented accurately, records remain current, and administrative support is provided across daily accounting-related tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Receive and organize incoming mail, then route and process donation checks and related donor correspondence accurately.
• Record contribution activity in Excel and keep supporting spreadsheets updated with complete and accurate details.
• Enter donation information into the organization’s donor database while maintaining consistency across records.
• Review donation entries in multiple systems and reconcile data to confirm amounts, dates, and donor details align properly.
• Investigate mismatched or incomplete information and take appropriate steps to correct record discrepancies.
• Protect confidential donor and financial information by following careful handling and documentation practices.
• Assist with general clerical, data entry, and accounting support tasks to help maintain efficient daily operations.
• Support related financial processes such as basic reconciliations and record coding as needed.
• At least 2 years of experience in accounting support, donation processing, data entry, or a related administrative role.• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for tracking, organizing, and reconciling financial or contribution data.
• Experience working with accounting or donor management systems, including accurate data entry and record maintenance.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and invoice coding.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar financial software used for day-to-day accounting activities.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and resolve inconsistencies in records.
• Ability to handle sensitive donor and financial information with a high level of confidentiality.
